My name is Edward Zachary Thomas...... I accidentally came across this site while surfing for a site of my own...... Best wishes to Zack ( my namesake ) and his family......I 'm the father of a son that was born with a facial defect and required 7 surgeries and countless visits to clinics. Our
greatest accomplishment was to have our son feel as normal as any child ... by enrolling him in regular schools and after school programs. Christopher is now 20 years old and a Junior in college.... and doing very well... The physical scars are still somewhat visible, but the mental scars are 90% gone.... You sound like the kind of family that will meet any challenges head on..... Zack is truly blessed to have such a family..... I wish you and you family the best and may GOD bless and be with you always

Hi Zack: Just wanted to say hi and so happy you are bouncing back. I was thinking that life is like that. Ups and downs, in's and out's. But how we manage all of that is what is important, and you are managing very well. With that great smile and I know that will continue... Uncle Art and I went horseback riding this morning. We were "cutting". That is where you go into a group of cattle and select a steer and keep him from his herd. Something he does not like and is trying very hard to return to. The horse and the rider keep them seperated, we hope. What I wanted to tell you is the man, Lonnie Weaver, that trains the horses was on his way to a benefit for Muscular Dystrophy. They were having a celebrity cutting and he was one of the contestants. I asked him to check your site. Maybe he will let us know how he did and sign your guestbook. Amazing all the people that are out there working to find a cure and help those who have the challange of working around it.

Zack, You probably don't know it yet, but you were born into a pretty
terrific family. You are part of an ever greater family, the family of God.
Phillipians 4 says to be anxious for nothing , but in all things
through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, make your request known
to God. This has become our theme, "Worry about nothing-Pray for everything"
We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

You really have quite a knack
For stealing hearts and turning eyes.
More so than some who're twice your size.
Can't wait until you learn to "yack".

I know you'll have a tale to tell
of God's love and grace so swell.
Many will listen to your voice
and cause their hearts to rejoice
To speak of how He made you well.

Dear Stan, Mary, and little Zach, Having gone through some trials and tribulations ourselves - our hearts and prayers go out to and for you. We have seen miracles first-hand & found they happen because of love, deep faith, and lots of prayers. The answers may not be exactly what we hoped for, but we have faith that the answers we received are whats best in the long run and we know they are diffinetly better than what an alternative could have been. Give thanks often for the love you have in each other and that others and God have for you and your family. We know in our hearts that with God all things are possible - one way or another. Zach, you are reading lots of stuff from many people you may not have a clue who they are - my name is Glenda and I work with your dad at Cuivre River. I feel very fortunate to know him and your mom, I know they are both very special as are you. I enjoy getting peeks at you every once in a while when you come for a visit and when your dad shares pictures. When I walk into your dad's office and see your pictures - my day is better. I hope someday you know the love we parents have for our children. You brighten Stan and Mary's days and many other of us as well. God bless you and your family. Love, Glenda and Jerry Presley.

Mary, Stan and Zack, Our youngest of two boys was diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy with Merosin at birth. Although the diagnosis was long and drawn out, we finally had a name for the disease that would change our lives after about two months. I don't have to tell you how long and sometimes difficult that period of time was for us. But, we have come to realize that our Son is truly a gift and he has given us a newfound appreciation for all "the little things"! Each new milestone is a gift. The only thing we would like for you to always keep in mind....is that doctors don't know everything and with the power of prayer...Only God knows what Zachary and Ryan will be capable of! Keep up the great progress and keep the faith!

Dear Zachary, Merry Christmas! You are the first friend I have made in our age group. My parents say we will be classmates in school. But who needs school when we're learning so much as it is? I guess things will be different when we're all grown up at 5 years old. I think it will be fun. Come over to play sometime soon! Love, Eleda Victoria Plouch (5 1/2 months old.)

Hi Zack, I can only tell you and your parents NEVER give up hope. My son had Cancer when he was 6 years old and my brother in law who is a Pediatrican told my wife and me that he felt we should let Richard just pass on.Well we never lost faith and Richard recieved 23 Radiation treatments and chemo for over a year and a half. My son went on to finish college and was working as a chemist on Cancer research. His cancer was exactly 20 years ago this month. Three weeks ago something was not quite right and again Richard went in for some tests and it appears he now has Acute Lukimea. The doctors felt this was caused by his radiation treatments. Again we are still full of hope as he is . You and your family must never think of the bad things only the good.My heart and prayers are with you and your family. I know nothing hurts more than seeing a child sick. With the good lords help and lots of prayers you to will be all right. I wish you and your entire family nothing but the very best and may God bless you .Sylvan

Merry Christmas 1998, Zack! Being a parent myself, I know that your Mommy and Daddy are probably more excited about your 1st Christmas than you are. That will soon change! Our Clayton, age 4, and Caleb, age 1 1/2, are anxiously waiting for Santa. Everyday Clayton asks, "Is today Christmas?"Zack, I hope you know that for being such a little guy you have made quite an impact on many people's lives. You've been blest with a wonderful Mommy and Daddy. Their strength, courage and love will help you to exceed any physical limitations life may bring. Many, many prayers will be whispered in your name. Keep the faith, Zack, Mary and Stan.Have a joyous holiday. Wishing you God's peace and blessings.

Dearest Zack:As you read this on your eighteenth birthday and wonder who we all are, I want to shed some light on it for you. You see, way back before the turn of the millenium, folks believed in miracles. Of course, you already know that miracles happen! You have grown into such a handsome young man. Back in 1998, folks fell in love with you. Was it your enchanting smile or that unique personality of yours? Who knows! Just know that you are loved in a special way. Back them, modern technology, especially in medicine, was gaining by leaps and bounds. Today (2016), it all seems so elementary. By the way, give your GREAT Aunt Mary a big hug. God bless you and your family, Zack. Love,Kathy Love

Best Holiday Wishes to Zack and his family!I know Art and Mary from the Plumbing and Heating Universe. And I am delighted to meet Zack! He is beautiful.I remember when my son was born, 13 years ago this 9th of December. It was so clear that he was not a pile of clay for us to mold; hewas a complete person with his own spirit and purpose. And he hastaught me more than I could ever teach him. Here's a lovely quote about children from Kahil Gibran..."You may give them your love but not your thoughts, for they have theirown thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even inyour dreams."Bless you all this holiday season and forever.Love, Ellen Rohr
